ABOUT

DISTIGMO is an independent magazine that emerged from the making of its inaugural issue, titled Trial and Error. The theme of Trial and Error—focusing on early design stages, experiments, mistakes, and unexpected turns—aligns with the magazine’s core purpose: to adopt a more open and nonlinear process in the development of its issues. Our approach is circular, with each issue reinforcing and evolving our central concept. In this context, contributors are vital to DISTIGMO‘s identity; their voices, expressed through articles, essays, sketches, and photographs, not only guide the magazine’s direction but also enrich its overall narrative.

DISTIGMO in Greek means “double point” or “two moments” referring to the punctuation mark known in English as the colon (:). A double point is used to emphasize and introduce ideas, and with this understanding, DISTIGMO seeks to highlight stories and provoke critical thought about the architectural landscape and its many dimensions.
